Bad idea to live with people you work with?

Is it? I really like this dude I work with and we get along like old pals. So when a room opened up in our 3br apartment, I floated the idea past him. My roommates liked him, he liked the place and so now he's set to move in. It's a big enough place that everyone gets their privacy, but I'm still vaguely spooked by the idea.

We work really well together, have a good time. We share similar interests and have hung out before. I'm not nervous about being compatible, but maybe it's a bad idea to cram into the same space all the time.

I'm a seriously chill dude. I like to go out a lot, too, so it's not like I'll see him ALL THE TIME. We're just super compatible, we like the same bands, we both play video games, we read graphic novels. If I could imagine a "dream friend", it'd probs. be this dude.

I've actually done this in the past and itw as a disaster, but drugs, a shitty job, a botched relationship and general mental health issues may have contributed. I feel like this is a much healthier foundation. Glad to hear it worked, I figured this thread would be full of "LOL U R DOOMED"

Well, at least if he has a steady job, it means that he won't screw you over in rent payments. A lot of my friends at work live with each other and none of them has had any problems.

With all your other recent house problems, this is one where you may be making trouble for yourself down the line. If he's a good friend, why potentially jeopardize it? Unless he's really hard up for a place to stay, I'd personally avoid living with friends, so that I never have to worry about it going south.
