It's a side game. Most likely to tie into Suikoden VI similarly to how Suikogaiden II tied into and brought about III.

It's not like 2d would actually help the game sell. It'd probably do worse.

No strategic battles and no 1-on-1 duels isn't a big deal, those kind of sucked anyway, especially the strategic battles. No true runs is WTF, and I'm not sure if I like the sound of a mission based structure. It makes it sound like there'll be less freedom. We'll have to see.

Fortunately its reading more and more like a "Spin off" in the complete sense (Parallel World

;_; Maybe it's for the better to put this franchise to rest. Still pretty dick that they basically setup this huge Harmonia-based epic Suikoden game in the background of all the other games and then just...never made it. Japanese devs seem to love teasing good games while developing shit ones unfortunately.

The backgrounds look cool, the battles look fast. There may be some hope for this yet, even if the characters look like FFCC DS rejects...

they always said harmonia will only appear in the last suikoden.
