Don't know. I was all about kart racing and NFL QB Club 98. Sure, the players ran slow as all get out but they were at least wearing NFL uniforms, as opposed to Madden 64 that year.

would Microsoft buy anybody for 300 million nowadays? Fricking Harmonix and their billion $ franchise sold for like 1/3rd of Rare's price, or am I remembering that wrong?

Yeah, but BioWare/Pandemic sold for some unholy figure. North of $800 million, I believe.

I don't think Microsoft would do the Rare purchase or anything like it again, however.

Conker was awesome, but Banjo Tooie, Donkey Kong 64, and Star Fox Adventure were all snooze-fests. I was not sorry to see them leave the Nintendo fold.

I actually really like Rare's games. Diddy Kong Racing, Banjo-Kazooie, GoldenEye, Perfect Dark, Jet Force Gemini, CBFD, Viva Pinata... all top-notch games to me.

Hell, I even like Kameo.

Rare isn't that bad. It is just that for the amount they were purchased for, it wasn't worth it.
