Warriors Orochi 2 Impressions - Yeah, that's some slowdown
« on: September 25, 2008, 12:33:33 AM »
It's not like, gamebreaking for me, but its definitely a big ol whattehfuuuuk. The story also seems somehow, even more lol-tastic than the original. Its to the point where if you didnt play the first, you'll have almost no context.

That being said the changes to weapon development is nice and its a roster of 90 characters at this point so there's no doubt you'll find SOMEONE you wanna use. I also have to give a huge nod to some of the battles in Orochi 2. They feel totally epic, even with the slowdown. They cut LuBu's balls off for the sake of the awful story, which IS a shame.

Really, for me, this is the only way to use my favorite DW character in a new musou title anymore. Beyond that this seems like one of the biggest milks of the last few years. Its very hard to defend the series after this and DW6.

I do eagerly await DW Gundam 2, as its getting the red carpet treatment in terms of budget :D

EASY?  That's gotta be TOO easy, man!  I have only been playing on normal and it hasn't been a problem.

DW6 Empires is coming.  Duckroll caught it on a Koei webpage.

But who knows what will be changed?  I would think whatever they do in SW6 Special will make it into Empires...

Only under certain conditions does this unusual slowdown occur.

Apparently these certain conditions involve such rare acts like multiplayer, and playing the last few levels.

No, no...originalz was sarcastically quoting Koei.  And you see...

if you think the slowdown is bad playing by yourself...

...NEVER, EVER try playing splitscreen.  It is WORSE.  OH THE HORROR

bravo koei.  bravo.

i'll just wait for the patch to come out and then start playing again.  i'm making my way through mass effect at this point, then back to kof 98.  in between there i believe the patch will come out and i'll be banging away at this game.

Haha, normal difficulty is still fucked. Why does it take 6 of my fucking generals to spend 7 minutes taking down one of theirs? Why does the AI block even the stagger moves that are supposed to break their block? Why the fuck is Wuhang Mountains battle such a sadistic fucking ride?

It's not busted and it's easier than the original game.  I was able to beat one story mode with essentially Honda by himself.

If there is no patch by the time the PSP version hits in November, this game is out the door.

Challenge is good.  But seriously stay away from the dream stages if you think normal is too much.  :P

What makes this game not fun is all the stupid-ass slowdown.  Maybe that's what is making it difficult for you in terms of stopping the enemy attacks?

the levels of difficulty directly play in with whether or not your weapon has the block-breaking element.  as soon as you can bust through blocks the game gets much easier.

i'm still trying to figure out what the new choice for weapon creation is.

Normal is definitely a joke in WO2, sadly. Dunno why they had to nerf it so much. Even Lu Bu's super grab and Kiyamori's bearhug grab barely do much damage on it. With the ability transfers from the WO1 save (mainly level 10 attack boost and level 10 defense boost) I started with hard from the very beginning and didn't have too much of a problem.

How do I beat the third samurai mission? I rush up there stopping both magic attacks to get to the guy in time, but if I take the time to nail gates I cant babysit them long enough for the main force to move up before its taken over again, and the guy im supposed to save wont move and cant fight worth shit, in fact no one except me can kill poop troops. Despite killing all the generals the 4-6 generals in the main force cant get past some spear guys. Even with the horse I cant watch all 4 or 5 gates, free the main force, and keep the guy im supposed to save alive. Is there some trigger to make the guy I save follow me? I cant go north and complete the objective cause the gates closed with no guard on duty so its clearly some event.
