A giant tree fell on my grandparents house and to make a long story short they are cannot live at home. My grandparents are kind of old (85+) and my granddad has a stroke a while back. My granddad is functional in the head and is able to think properally, but he has some problems speaking. If you're not used to it you might just think that he cant form words. But after some time you can understand him. Anyway, he needs some assistance showering and our house it two stories with the only bathroom on the second floor. Because of this he cannot use our showers. So since the accident, he has been staying at a nursing home. It's bad enough that he has to even go there but the worst part is that the caretakers there treat him as if he is senile and has Alzheimer's. And because of his speech problems he is unable to stand up for himself.
And then the most depressing thing I ever heard today...
Apparently right before I got there to pick him up a nurse asked him what he was doing next to the door. My grandfather said he was waiting for his family to pick him up. The nurse said "You have no family and no one is coming for you."

My grandpa will evenutally be in a nursing home but right now its depressing watching people treat him like this.
