True that.  WiiHD would be pretty much unstoppable.  And the DS is already monsterously popular.  So Nintendo can afford to sit on their hands and just stare at all their money they're not spending on developing actual games or any sort of online service or whatever diabolical Wii storage solution they eventually come up with.

As long as it doesn't split the games, I'm for a redesign and I'll def buy it.  There are a couple of Japanese games where you can buy a camera accessory, so I guess that the functionality will be built in for them.  I doubt many games will use it tho.

Yeah, I hate it when devs try to shoehorn 3D onto the DS. I want more shit like The World Ends With You, Children of Mana, and the Mega Man games, 2D hand drawn art ftw!!!

They've got some room on that, but this seems like a first step in anticipation of when iPod Touches/iPhones are cheaper in a couple years.  Even then, the target market age groups are probably very different. I thought that outside forums, the DS is mostly sold to teens/pre-teens.
