So, lots of interesting matchups this week. What was thought to be USC's biggest threat as of last week is Oregon, and now they have to play them after losing to Oregon State. Auburn has an opportunity to be upset by Vanderbilt, who is in the top 25 for the first extended period since, well, ever. In the Big 10, Ohio Suck plays Wisconsin. Hopefully Beanie Wells can make a difference for the Buckeyes, who might actually still win the Big 10, lol.  North Carolina fights for respect against ranked Connecticut. And, since I'm biased, #2 Alabama, who may have the best Alabama team since the Bear Bryant days, fights an undefeated Kentucky team that's ready to show that they can be competitive in the SEC.

Discuss.

USC shouldn't be that high. Fuck, I'd put both Georgia and Florida over USC. Oregon State is shit. Ole Miss and Alabama aren't quite as big of pushovers. Hell, Ole Miss is probably one of the best unranked teams in the nation.

The only teams I see not being bowl eligible in the SEC right now are Tennessee and Mississippi State.

I have to say, of all the losses, at least UGA's came against a top 10 ranked team.

that said, Mark Richt needs to clamp down on the penalties. Those 2 roughing the passer in the first half killed them.

That being said: My bold prediction of this season.

Alabama goes undefeated to the SEC Title game and faces a 1 loss Georgia or Florida for the SEC Title.

Richt's main problem is that he needs to focus more on the offensive and defensive lines and a little less on skill positions.  It's great that he's got a badass qb and more waiting in the wings, but if they don't have a line to protect them what good are they?

Yea, it also hurt that they lost their best two players at each spot.

But the good thing is, with these lumps, those freshmen and sophmores will have good experience next year.. maybe.

Meh, as a former student I like what Richt has done with the program, no doubt.  But look at what Saban has done with Alabama in only two years- holy shitburgers.  Richt should be meaner to his players and stock up on big fat, strong dudes to play the line on both sides of the ball.  That's how you're gonna win in the SEC, dominate the lines.

Heh, so does Alabama.  There are a TON of Freshmen/RS Freshman/Sophmore's playing.  But, what will hurt is starting a new QB next year, and losing at least 2, maybe 3 offensive linemen as well.  I think they have good talent behind them, with no experience...but you lose an outstanding Center, and if he leaves, the best LT in College.  You don't replace that immediately.

But Defense, Bama will be flat LOADED.  I believe we only have 1 or 2 seniors in the entire starting 11.

Time for a change. This year, we are ending our winning streak against Tennessee (hey, they fucking suck) and our fuckawesome defense will at least give Tebow some trouble.

Florida is so overrated. First of all, without Tebow, the Gators are nothing. Second, even with Tebow, their offense has been underperforming in comparison to last year.

Of course, we will see if Kentucky is any good this weekend, when they play Alabama. If it's a landslide, I'm settling in for the long haul and hoping that we can beat at least two more teams for bowl eligibility. If we play Alabama close or if we win, then I'm seeing an SEC championship run in store for the Wildcats.
