Can't get The Witcher to register online - Cookie Hell

Stupid launcher registration tool cant see the cookie from thewitcher.com no matter what I turn off. I even added the domain to the always allow list. yeargghhh crappy registration tool. I cant do enhanced version until it takes. Fuq.

Yeah for Prole too. Wtf do I need to do to IE to make it work. Its sadly a pretty common problem.

There's definitely something wrong with their activation system.  Steam keeps telling me that I need to copy down the serial and activate The Witcher but so far I've never gotten any activation requests.

Yeah there's apparently two serials, one is for registering the game online, and one is for playing the game? Its really crazy.

MCD: I tried firefox and set it as default and that worked for most people but the launcher was still barking about IE, which im tired of futzing with at this point.

What part is actually messing you up? Is when you're trying to register the game, is it when you're installing the patch?

Registering. I've followed all the steps, tried all the tricks. Some people say registering from someone else's pc works, or reinstalling windows helps, lol. Not sure I want it that bad.
