What animu are you watching to distract yourself from harsh realities?

I have 3 of the 4 dvd's of Haibane Renmei and I'm meaning to watch them some day but never get around to it. Outside of Ghibli and Initial D I don't really watch much anime, how would you anime fanbois rate Haibane Renmei? I want to watch Rave Master, I hear that's right up my alley since all the places they go are named after music genres.

It's one of my favorites. A very slow [up till the final episodes, mainly] and surreal show, but it presents an intriguing world and interesting characters.
