Civ4 Colonization = The first 5-10 minutes
« on: September 30, 2008, 11:57:24 PM »
I know FRAG has played this, or some of you have played Civ titles, what are the first things I should be doing when it comes to exploring, first contact, and building a new town? I can muddle through the interface fine, but I dont want to make bad choices that make the game piss me off.

-Try to build in an area that's not filled with Indian villages. Eventually they'll get mad at you for taking their land and revolt. Their troops aren't hard, but they can muster several dozen units and completely disrupt your operations for quite a few turns.

-Set a couple of mounted scouts to auto-explore and let them roam around.

-Don't try to take over Indian tribes until your colony is built up. You might have better luck fighting other colonies though.

Thanks! Not sure if NWN2, Warhammer, or Civ is on tap tonight, but having some good basics in mind saves me 30 minutes of BORING tutorial

NWN2 was pretty fun but it's kinda hard to get back into once you put it away for too long.  I can't remember what to do in combat so I"ll probably have to start over.  Should I go with the expansion pack or the OG campaign since they're separate stories?

I started over from the start of the first story cause I wanna import a character over to the Mask module. Its been so long since ive played it I forgot most of it anyway. I made a druid this time since I almost always go sorc/wizard/whathaveyou. Im glad they let you skip that whole stupid town fair tutorial. If there was ever a reason to let half of the people at the fair die later that evening, its the tutorial.

I would help here for Civ4: Colonization, but every time I talk about picking up this or King's Bounty my wife gives me a dirty look and tells me to play Warhammer with her. Which is fine by me.  :D

King's Bounty is awesome, like an unrequested thumb in the ass.  It's the best Heroes sequel ever.
