The Chai I bought in the Indian store had a stronger aroma than the American branded ones so I guess there's a difference.

I just got some Stash Chai (Oregon) in the mail from Amazon a couple of days ago.  

Pretty good tea for the coffee drinker in me - nice and full bodied.  

I have made it the last few days and, while not as good as a chai latte, it is still pretty delicious stuff.

If you really wanna go Chai crazy, try making your own. American powdered Chai has nothing on the zany herbal antics of those Indians.

After reading this thread, I think I'm gonna hit one of the 50+ Indian grocers they have around the corner in Hicksville. $2 for some potent and spicy chai, although I'm a bit ashamed to admit I also like the Americanized powdered chai with extra helpings of sugar in it.
