Purchased for the new Dell PC that's currently shipping to me.

It was clearance-priced at Best Buy -- $110 after taxes. I guess it's been a year since this card was "cutting-edge", but all I really wanna play is WoW and Audiosurf anyway. Maybe I will give TF2 a try, but right now I imagine it's pointless to step in and try to compete with 12-month veterans.

MAF, go with a E-SATA ready drive if that one isn't already. It really makes a difference. If convenience is most important, then just get a WD passport. It's small as a Zune and don't need an extra cable.

Which version is this? The newer 512mb 8800 GTS is a little bit better than the older 640mb version.

I dunno if that's better than the 8800 GTS....I'm too lazy to figure out what all the alphabetic videocard suffixes mean. The numbering system in itself is confusing enough.

The GTS is a bit faster but it's not a huge difference. Also, don't be afraid to jump into TF2. I had like 6 kills in a row the last time I played and I barely played it.
