Just got this today, very cool.

Finished a quest a few minutes ago. Won't play this as much as I would like to because of...

Finishing this game on Sunday.

Killin TROOPZ. Still stuck on that mission in the Samurai campaign. Wish ally generals werent so useless. Went to the Wu campaign in the meantime.

So awesome...until of course I forget I have my calvary on ice and the ice thaws and the unit drowns lol..fuck :/

Nothing today YET but I am going to be playing some XBox Live stuff, probably Halo 3, Soul Calibur 4, and maybe some VF5 and/or Battle Fantasia.

Plus I am back in the beat-em-up thing playing Basara 2 Heroes on Wii, Shin Sangoku Musou 5 Special on PS2, and even a bit of Ikkitousen Eloquent Fist on PSP, which is surprisingly decent given its source material and is all hand-drawn. It's a very old-school average beat-em-up, but seeing this kind of game is incredibly rare these days.

Haha, Ikkitousen PSP is kinda like a 2D Dynasty Warriors. You mow down waves of enemies using preset square and triangle combos, O is a "musou" that takes some life when you use it, X is jump, R is run, and L powers you up. After you power up you can then do a big super attack. You level up too, but I still think it's a little bland and too easy (so far) even on the hard setting. You can even keep combos going if you attack someone right after downing another...I got up to 138 hits a minute ago. It's like gold compared to the awful PS2 game that came out earlier.

Still doing a few more sidequests and grade farming in Tales of Vesperia.

Me and my cousin beat Castle Crashers yesterday. I was using the Blue Knight, so I'll go on to the other characters.

I've been playing these two games exclusively for over a month now.

I don't know why, but I decided to finish Metroid Prime 3. This game still looks pretty good and I didn't even need a trailer highlighting the various effects to fool me into thinking I might care about it.

I'm going through my too-large backlog.

finally beat Disaster Report a mere four years and change after rescuing it from a ten dollars or less bin at Gamestop. Its still fun, but man, oh man, is it ever super-fugly. Its got lots of good ideas, and sometimes good execution, but the technical shortcomings make it somewhat hard to enjoy it so much today. Raw Danger, the sequel, is much, MUCH better.

And damn, Urban Reign is diamond-hard, but I likes it. A couple years into this gen and we still don't have a decent beat-em-up. But hey, UR fills my need to punch the shit outta a bunch of generic dudes quite nicely.

Since I just got my Crysis PC on monday, I have been playing:

Crysis- just beat it on friday and it was excellent. It had alot of similarities with Half-Life and it exceeded all of my expectations.

Crysis Warhead- i've only played the first level so far. it's alot easier than the first game, and it doesn't run as well on my system, which is weird since my PC was optimized especially for it. But I bought this through Steam, and the original I have the DVD, so I don't know if that makes a difference.

The Witcher Enhanced Edition- I wanted to finish Sapkowski's "The Last Wish" before I started this. Pretty lame and generic first level, but once you get out into the open world it's pretty awesome. I've only played this for a couple of hours, but I can see myself really enjoying this game.

Company of Heroes- I bought this game awhile ago but my PC couldn't run it. Not much else to say. It's Relic. It's an RTS. Awesome.

How are you guys doing in King's Bounty? I haven't turned it on in a few days, but I was kinda getting raped the last time I played it. Once you clear out the first little area, the enemies seem pretty tough compared to your guys. I guess you just have to try to avoid the tough fights and cruise around looking for wimps until you get more XP. I had like 180 plant monsters, 80 spiders, 28 soliders, 18 mages, and 18 archers, and I got my butt kicked by two golems. I'm only playing on Medium, I'm glad I didn't put it on Hard.

A lot of the spells seem kinda crappy too. One ally gets +10% to defense for 3 turns or something like that, it barely seems worth it. Or healing 15 points of health to one unit, big whoop, I need to bring my guys back to life. I wish had some offensive spells, but I haven't put any points into that side of the spell chart yet, so I don't have any chaos magic.

I found the best settings for the Crysis games is textures, volumetric, physics, water, sound at maximum\enthusiast and then everything else at high\gamer.

Give it a try. If it's still slow, then try the above recommendation but with high and medium settings instead.

re king's bounty: i'm not having much of a problem with the forest and swamp. make sure you are level 4-5 before you leave the starting area, though, and really focus on increasing leadership. DO ALL OF THE QUESTS. be sure you've taken one level in scouting, and always right-click on enemy stacks before you approach them just to get an idea of what yer in for.

offensive magic is awesome. i am a mage, and fireball (chaos) or that guillotine spell (order) are perfect for thinning stacks.

Or better yet, take a trip to Fry's if there's one around. They've got plenty of PC stuff at cheaper prices than Steam.

I swapped out the ram for 4gb of Gskill DDR2.

Thanks for the tips on Crysis. On the first game, I just had the system pick the optimal settings and it performed great. I did the same thing with Warhead and it seems to studder much more than the original on my system

Your PC is pretty good but I wouldn't trust Cryisis's optimal settings. They are often too high.
