and you gotta admit, Ribbons is probably the best pilot for gundam, i was wondering if he really is that skilled with him sitting on DAT COUCH the entire season but i was proven wrong, he rocked and i want my GUNDAM RIBBONS GUNPLA NOW.

Al is totally going to return for the movie.  He'll show up when others are in trouble.  Lasse gets no chance to be a meister and he still isn't at the end since he's still rocking the normal boring spacesuit.
