Can't wait for Dead Space
« on: October 06, 2008, 08:16:10 AM »
Game looks really good. It's been a while since I played a good horror game (was going to play Condemned 2, passed when I heard it was shit  :-\) and this seems to fit the bill quite nicely. Anyone happen to play this yet? One more week til its out  :hyper

Yeah, I'm looking forward to it and still can't decide if I want to play Dead Space more or SR2...and I hate that I have to decide this since they are on the same day.

What!? It's out so soon? :o
I think I'm gonna skip it for now. Already have a backlog building up... Infinite Undiscovery, Raiden IV :-\

Yeah, plus there's too much stuff coming out.  I think Dead Space, Saint's Row 2, and Golden Axe Beast Rider all come out on the same day.  I'm going with Saint's Row 2.

Too bad the PC version doesn't come out until a week after the console versions, although that does leave a whole week free to play some Saints Row 2. So I guess it all works out okay in the end.

There you go. I helped thin out that list a bit.

As much as I loved the original Golden Axe and its arcade sequel, the new one just doesn't look like it's going to be any good. Hope I'm wrong as I love me a good hack 'n slash.

It looks so awesome that I'm buying it over Fallout 3, Fable 2 and Farcry 2.  All of which I will get later, but I can only play one game at a time.

Has anyone watched the animated comic that is up on Live? I've watched a few and apparently the story involves some kind of scientific religion vs. atheism plotline.

I've been watching them - they're OK although everyone really needs their mouth washed out with soap.  I think it's a great idea to provide them for those of us who want to maximise our experience.

Yeah, I noticed the profanity too. Every other word is bleeped out and it seems really gratuitous, I just hope the game isn't like that.

Excessive profanity can be tiring and distracting.

Some of us value the ability to express oneself effectively without having to resort to the lowest common denominator. Note the lack of profanity in this thread indicating Dead Space fans as a whole are better than everybody else. :tophat

Alone in the Dark had useless profanity and look how that turned out.

Alone in the Dark had useless profanity and look how that turned out.

It had zero impact on the gameplay, the script was one of the best parts of the game

i don't have a problem with profanity in general, its overuse just seems juvenile to me.

Profanity sets the tone and makes it real. Real talk.

I am sorry if you do not have the street smarts to survive. Survive in space.

Dead Space.

I don't want dialogue like "I DON'T HAVE YOUR STONE AND FUCK YOU ANYWAY" in Dead Space.

If it's worse then Doom 3(scare-wise) I don't think I can play it.

Doom 3 wasn't scary at all.

I hope Dead Space consists of Isaac weeping profusely and giving heartfelt apologies to his former loved ones as he splatters their innards all over the walls.

and hopefully Dead Space isnt too long so I can rent as opposed to buy (and get all the achivements)

Im really in the mood for some survival horror

thats scary

and has profanity

and is really fucking violent. Im talking disembowlment via crude makeshift weaponry here.

WTF is going on in this thread? "Oh I hope this game isnt scary and doesnt have profanity". W T F

I think everyone wants it scary as hell.  We're just saying the sheer volume of swearing in the comic makes it sound forced and silly.
