I'm confused. Acquire is making Way of the Samurai 3 on a next gen system...this is basically as good as it could get.

Don't be hating on the Acquire way of making games. They take next gen gameplay and add in last gen graphics to make a balance in the current gen. It turned out amazing so far considering they haven't made a bad game yet.

i'd say they're just a little behind the curve considering the gameplay could be done on ps1 and the graphics on ps2

Way of the Samurai story progression has yet to be mimicked or topped, so I'd say they are way ahead of the curve there. Even the core gameplay of it is still advanced. The actual combat is simple, but all the different styles based on the weapons you get are awesome. Still, their games do look pretty bad. Their best looking game ever is probably Yuusha on PSP, but that is a 2D game.

And Samurai Western was fun.

Oh, and the PSP port of WOTS samurai is apparently a bit messy.

The original games were ugly PS2 titles so it's no surprise that their first PS3 game is also ugly.

Did you like Onimusha? I enjoyed the first three but the last game failed to interest me at all. Oni 4 was another example of Capcom milking the franchise one too many times.

I never really played Onimusha, I'm not a huge fan of 3rd person games but WoTS just grabbed me.

Yeah, that was really strange for me. I really liked Onimusha 3 (Jean Reno

) but I couldn't get into Dawn of Dreams or whatever the 4th game was called. I enjoyed the first Genji more than Onimusha 4...then again Genji 2 was awful.
