Bloody crap
« on: October 07, 2008, 10:27:52 AM »
I got blind drunk on Friday after work, didn't eat anything and went straight to a 30th birthday party where I drank some more. Then on Saturday, I went to a friends house and drank some real ales. On Sunday I travelled down to Reading, and had some more beer. Every day since Friday there's been blood in my crap / on the TP.

I'm not sure whether this is down to:
a) the drinking
b) birthing a particularly large log
c) overzealous wiping... (maybe all the crapping / wiping is stopping the butt wound from clotting)
d) some kind of internal ailment that would require medical attention
e) someone from the bore creeping into my room at night  :-*

WWEBD?
I imagine going to a doctor about this would be horribly awkward.

Highest chance of being true.

I was going to suggest not worrying about it unless it becomes more frequent, but it may be worthwhile to even call your doctor just in case, if only to potentially put your mind at ease. And with all things like this, if it turns out to be something, catching it sooner than later is always the better option.

My gut (and bowel!) are telling me it's likely nothing to freak out about, though.

yeah red blood isnt usually anything. the damage from drinking would occur in your stomach, and bleeding there either causes blood in vomit, or black stool. Red blood usually means something is up somewhere around your anus. The most common cause is Hemmeroids, which is what im willing to bet on this being. Still, if it gets worse, or keeps on for more than a few weeks, see a doctor. Also, if you spend more than a few minutes on the toilet to take a crap, dont. Sitting on the toilet for long periods of time promotes hemmeroids. Hit the toilet only when you need to go, dont camp out waiting for it to come.
