Halo 3: Recon. It's an expansion pack/side-story with a different character.

That's quite MEH.

Still haven't finished Halo 3, and I don't plan to. The campaign is quite bad. I don't care about the multiplayer.

I'm semi excited for Halo 3 recon...4 player co op in Halo 3 is fun.  I'm more of a campaign guy than multiplayer guy anyway.

However, since this is an expansion, hopefully the game is priced at an expansion price point.  30 or 40 dollars.  None of this 60 dollars expansion bullshit.

However, why would MS choose TGS as the event to unveil this game? ???

besides s&p2, the best things to come out of tgs are xbla ports of portable games -- that's kind of astonishing

as a from software fanboy i'm just going to disregard the footage and impressions of their new games :'(

p.s. ... RE5 was shite too.

Did they have the updated control style there? Were you a fan of RE4?

It sucked if your an SFag. As a Wii60 owner life is awesome. Punchout, SP2, Tekken 6,Halo Episode 1 and all the cool XBLA stuff.

If you are a PS3 only owner you are still getting Tekken 6 (again I don't understand why a game is irrelevant when it goes multiplatform) and Ryu Ga Gotoku 3 looks amazing.  WKC also has potential to be good depending on the actual gameplay video that leaks, but right now it reminds me of IU, which is actually both good because I was really hyped up for IU, or bad since IU didn't deliver.

The only game you lose if you switch from "Wii60" to "PSwii" is Halo Episode 1 in exchange for RgG3. Allow me to get excited for Punchout.

aren't you, like, sort of forgetting a whole host of stuff?

also, by the same take, wouldn't :

Quote

be also a true one?

that really doesn't sound mass market appealing and i'm sure sales figures on the Halo and RgG3 series in the US would back me up ;)

I'm not forgetting anything, I'm using the list of things that Grecco provided. He gave 2 Wii games, 1 multiplatform game, and 1 exclusive.

And I'm not arguing sales or anything. He said the show was horrible if you're an sfan and then provided a list of 3 games that don't matter.

i need to clarify that the show was horrific FULL STOP.

not if you were just an sfan.

it was just garbage FULL STOP.

no matter what your leaning.

i already have Duckroll due to fly out to hit me with a twig or something, but it's not MY fault TGS was like being promised hot 70s fur minge but instead getting Hulk Hogans scrotum teabagging us :(

yes, that was my point. show sucked major ass. cancel gaming.

Punch Out doesn't have enough Zippers and chains for you?  :P

Irregardless, Punch Out, SP2, NMH2, Halo Recon, Tekken 6 on X360, and all the cool XBLA stuff. Were actual new announcements.

Like i said. I own a Wii and a X360 and im happy with what i got from TGS. It didnt "suck".

Punchout is fun for roughly 2 minutes at a time. so it fits in with nintendo's strategy of making games unbearable if you have to play them for more than 10 minutes.

also, are you suggesting you enjoy this game because you can see man chest and ripped musculature

You have to wonder what "expansion" means when coming from the company whose full games clock tend to clock in at around 8-9 hours.

I think as far as the show goes, it comes down to expectations. Xtards don't tend to expect a lot, so little is sufficient. Stards, on the other hand, expect every year to signal the return of The Sony, with revelations of dozens of RPGs and various projects like the new one from Team Ico. From that perspective, it must be disaster time right around now.

jesus , do you ever give sony a break? just because MGS4 was so short, is that ALL you are ever going to bring up?! ;)
hell, fucking Sony fans bringing up this shit as Sony announce Spec 3 is fucking laughable.

"We don't actually have GT5 yet... please enjoy another year of demo! ... we might even charge (if us honourable japanese allow you the privalege!)"

mi mi mi - expanision mi mi mi even if it's 8-9 hours, as i say, that's a good 50% on MGS4.

You may want to recalibrate that spud gun of yours, because you're hitting nothing but air. I have no love for anything MGS, and GT has been irrelevant to me since, well, the first one. Instead, we could talk about how inefficient Bungie is, as that is something we might have a common interest in. Basically, turn down the fanboy speakers a bit.

you have to hold sony to blame somewhat! they promised the universe X years ago, and they delivered a small slice.
you can't throw it back on to tard fans fully, they hype machine tends to go quiet when they fail to deliver (twiddles thumbs for GTPSP which is coming just as soon as GT5 proper gets delivered apparently... in 2051)

Naturally, just explaining why it might seem more shit on one side of the fence than on the other.

Wasn't the Team Ico game basically promised for this TGS?

I believe this 100% to be true.

whereas just feltching them or making excuses for them makes them weaker.

See the connection here? Halo is one of my favorite games of all time, and I was a pretty big Xbot back in the day. The only thing I thought Sony did right last generation was God of War, and beyond that my love for Sony was pretty much limited to Wipeout, which never even saw a good iteration in that generation. My own dislike for the "Xbox" experience this generation, is based on the relative shitsuckiness of the Xbox 360 generation.

There are small things. The Xbox was the system with the most features standard, without a nickle and dime policy on everything. Instead of Rallisport, we have multiples of dull ass, safe tarmac grinders. Bungie takes years to deliver a few hours of B plot sci-fi, and two more to deliver a fucking expansion. The one thing that seems to have improved is Fable, but we'll see how that ends up. My dislike for the 360 is not even almost irrational.

Why?  The only reason I can think of is that you prefer a console to be more PC like, which is what MS has been moving away from.

jesus christ.
this is absolutely shocking stuff, there is no defending this sort of bunkum.

Well, it was. A shitload of so-so to downright crappy games, JRPGs which to me all suck incredible amounts of rotten sewage, and various quirky garbage games from hell. I hated GT, loathed the Team Ico games, and vehemently disliked having to buy memory cards and adapters for everything from 4 player MP to online gaming. The only highlights were the games from Insomniac, Sucker Punch and Santa Monica Studio.

Meh, all this talk about j shit is depressing. RE5 is the only game I'm interested in. I'll get a 360 when it comes out

I was excited about RE5 until E3, when it became clear that it was really just RE4 HD. I know they talked about having nowhere to hide, with destructible environments, and then I see a dude bust through a clearly marked section of the wall. Add serious clipping issues and weird looking animation, and it was just a disappointment. And here I thought I wanted RE4 HD.

I don't play all that many games, and I don't enjoy wading through stockpiles of games in hopes of finding one that is decent, when experience tells me that just about every shelf filler I had bought, I had regretted buying. I played four games on my PS1; Wipeout, Wipeout 2097, Wip3out SE and CTR. That's it, everything else got a few minutes and then back in the case. After buying a PS2, I was amazed at the amount of games the system had, compared to the PC and Xbox platforms. But other than Ratchet and Sly and later God of War, nothing I bought managed to stick around. Wipeout Fusion sucked, which made me just flat out hate everything about the PS2. The Xbox was a much more appealing platform, due to its all-in-one build, media features and having more than enough good to great games to keep me busy.

Favorite, yes, but hardly all that great. If anything, I'm more happy with its usefulness as a media hub than as a gaming machine, but hopefully MotorStorm 2 will make it level with RSC2-having Xbox at least when it comes to racing games, and R2 + Infamous will likely push it further. Other than that, meh. I'll keep playing reasonably well-ported multiplatform games on the system due to the abhorrent UI and noise level of the 360, but as far as gaming machines go I can't spot any great differences between the two right now.

This generation isn't a great one.

It's weird; I loved SNES as a kid but I think it has aged horribly.  So many of the game just seem slow or choppy in comparison to the other platforms at the time.
IMO the best systems ever are the NES, Genesis, Neo-Geo, PS1, and PS2.  On the portable side it's the GB, Neo-Geo Pocket Color, GBA, and PSP.  I am still undecided on this gen, which despite having some great games and online play has been largely disappointing to me.

This generation isn't a great one.

Can't say I agree with much else you wrote, but definitely with you on this one.  It says something when a lot of my favorite titles released this generation have been PS2, PSP, and DS games.

wtf wtf wtf and WTFFFFFF

4'30 am - time for bed. this isn't making any sense!

The PS3 is still below Xbox level when it comes to racing games because MotorStorm failed to be more wicked than RSC2. R2 and Infamous will probably give the PS3 a whole lot more value as a games machine, at least for me. Not sure what's so confusing about it.

I'll give Microsoft this, though; there's nothing else like Fable out there, except Fable 2. That was a smart deal, and MS seems to be letting them do their own thing.
