Even if you have seen the mini-series, everyone should read Band of Brothers. In fact, read ALL of Ambrose's books. The guy is a legend.


Has anyone read Jared Diamond's latest book 'Collapse: How Societies choose to Fail or Succeed'? Any good? He was the author of 'Guns, Germs and Steel'. Which I found pretty dry and boring for long stretches.

Ambrose wrote about Lewis and Clark also. Very thorough. Kind of humbling what those men could accomplish.

Robbins reminds me of Douglas Adams meets Hunter S. Thompson. The story isn't very strong, but there are passages and chapters that are hilarious and biting.
