I think what I enjoy most about my zune is how I can have a main PC paired with a device, and have the device exist as a 'guest' on other machines giving me the ability to share to the machine or share items to the device.

ipod's pairing with machines is a logistical nightmare.

I don't want to use itunes but my sister wants Countdown with Keith Olbermann, and my usenet quota is kinda low, so I have to use it.

foobar2000 is all you need.

Foobar is a very weak competitor of AmaroK. But then again I used Foobar on somebody elses machine that was loaded with spyware so that may have had something to do with the flaky-ness that I experienced.

I've recently encountered the "new" way that Office works (I believe it's called the Ribbon), and my hatred for it is infinitely far beyond any hatred I've ever felt before.  And in contrast to iTunes crashing your machine, the Ribbon was something the developers deliberately did.

You must be doing something wrong. I prefer un-buggy versions of WinAmp to iTunes, but iTunes is still plenty nice. Realplayer is just junk, a notch below windows media player.

This foobar thing is not user friendly.  Is winamp the best music player for Windows?  I've been using iTunes (moved from a mac) and it is pretty shit on Windows.

windows 7 will be using the ribbon interface for several applications like mspaint and wordpad and windows live applications are already using it in the latest beta.

better start to like it lol.

dunno about user friendly but if you don't like the layout, go to view --> layout --> quick setup

not fond of winamp personally.

iTunes is worth it for the podcast subscription management alone.

iTunes is the biggest piece of shit program ever.

The way the program catalogs bands is shit. The program also fucking duplicates songs at random if you have it search folders for media. Then, the only way to go back through and delete songs is each and every one of them, song by song.

Plus, as T234 said, it fucking crashes constantly. ALL THE FUCKING TIME.

Is there a better program that works with the iPod? If there is, someone please tell me. Fuck iTunes up the ass.

PS: the bar on the new Office isn't that bad. I seem to find shit I need quicker most of the time. Out of all the fucked up shit that Microsoft does to programs, the ribbon wasn't one of the worst atrocities.

I'm still on XP at work (with classic appearance) and Office 2003.  I'm determined to make this combo last for at least another decade.

Yep, I can't find fucking anything.  Took me 15 minutes to figure out where the options were.  My kingdom for a goddam menu!
