I've also decided not to run GAF Secret Santa. After two years of whiners and people not following through on sending gifts, I'm not getting yelled at for it being "my fault" anymore.

yeah, i can understand that. gaf is huge though, so i can see how there'd be a few stinkers each year who skip out on sending anything.

here on eb it's been pretty good, and i think it has a lot to do with it being more community-like here -- you're more likely to get someone to buy gifts for who you actually know, and whose posts you've read, as opposed to some random stranger or semi-lurker. we've had very few problems with gifts not showing up. stuff has come late but a lot of that has to do with the postal system/international shipping, too.
