I've spent over an hour downloading PC game patches...

jesus fucking christ, company of heroes has like 20 different patches, and you can't download them all at once

you have to download one, apply it, restart the game, download another patch, etc.

if i'd known this i wouldn't have bothered updating

Yeah, it's bullshit. Dawn of War has the same problems. Relic lacks patching chops, it seems.

plus the download speed is comparable to pouring frozen molasses

when i downloaded that steam hl2 ep 1 + mod pack the other day, which contained a fuckton of stuff,  i was playing within an hour

I installed this game recently and I had the same problem Eel. Had to download, install, and then restart the game at least 5 times before it was finally done. They should just have a single comprehensive update patch that you have to download

i've actually had the game for a while now, but never upgraded because i had an older vidcard

i wanted to dowload all the patches to try out all the neat dx10 effects, since i just got an 8800gts

but by the time i was finished updating i was too sleepy to play the game

NWN2 has a distinguished mentally-challenged amount of patching, and we still haven't got the much anticipated, much delayed DRM patch.

Took longer to patch WoW and Guild Wars than it did to realize I dislike both games.

Its the reason why I haven't played NWN2 expansion or my BF2 expansion. I already have 10 other games on my hard drive and I don't feel like waiting an hour to play those games.
