I actually just had a scare when I had a full red circle when I turned my 360 on without the video cable in, but I guess that was just a warning to tell me the video cable wasn't in.

i'm praying that my 360 red rings before my warranty runs out in november -- i've had a couple freezes and a weird video cutout playing armored core. i don't think i could bring myself to buy another domestic 360, and paying to fix this one would be asinine

That's how mine was up until this point.  2 hours after a red ring, it would be good to go.  This is a launch unit, so I'm kinda lucky it lasted this long.

If mine dies I'll just pick up a Jasper arcade and use the HD from my previous console.  The failure rates on the Falcon and later modesl are considerably smaller than previous models.

I'm lucky because I have my launch unit, which still works fine (touches laminate that looks wood-ish) and a Halo 360 that was given to me as a gift. So if one dies, I'm not totally screwed. My only failure thus far was my mem card frying, losing all my saves and achievements for a bunch of games.

Such a healthy base for a marriage.  I have no idea why people insist on getting married just as their relationship is fraying along the edges.  Oh wait, I do have an idea, and it's that the neuropsychological basis for love only lasts for a rather short period of time (9-18 months), and if your relationship is to last longer than that, there had better be a stronger basis than just the very temporary physical high of love.

This sucks. My 360 red ringed me once, last year when Halo 3 came out. But i guess it had a positive effect, as i was able to enjoy the game after the launch hype.

But yeah, it always feels shitty when an electronics product fails on you, simply because it's crappily built.

Yeah, last week I was playing IU and all of a sudden, after a cinema, I saw all these green dots on screen... turned off the system, turned the game back on and they were still there. Turned it off again, and just as I expected, the graphics card overheated and I got the red ring. I got my coffin last Thursday and sent mine into the PO last Saturday. So I totally feel your pain... hopefully MS will be prompt in repairing it or shipping us both new consoles.

Every year around this time my 360 dies.  Seriously, I'm on my fourth right now and all of 'em except for my launch unit (which died a few months in) RRODed around the begining of November.  It's like there's a fucking timer in these things.

I hope it doesn't happen again this year 'cause I'm sending my PS3 off to be fixed this week and god only knows how long that'll take.
