Cereal - crunchy, soggy, or... ?
« on: October 14, 2008, 10:39:09 PM »
How do you like it?  And how much milk do you like on your cereal?

I like it about half way - pour the milk on and let it sit for a minute or two.  And I like it to be drowning in milk, the cereal should be totally submerged.

fuck cereal haters and their worthless, barren lives.

are there people out there that actually like soggy cereal?  seems like it would taste like runny, sugary oatmeal.

edit: one day the wops of this forum will crush all of the (undoubtedly uglier) haters here :maf

I just eat cereal out of the box.

Except for Cheerios, I need milk with those. But it has to be crunchy though.

A couple of times the phone has rang and I've put the cereal in the fridge and forgot about it.  Runny, sugary oatmeal is pretty much the result.  Very runny.  :-X

Soggy. Ever since I was a kid, I just always preferred it that way. Odd, I know.

Also, can you Americans buy Crunchberry Cap'n Crunch any time of the year? It only comes around here once in a blue moon, and I have a friend that will likely eat his face in anger if the answer is yes.

There is a section of Neal Stephenson's 'Cryptonomicon' which dissects this biting issue for about 15 pages, down to the exact temperatures of the milk and cereal and the chemical processes of decomposition of the cereal. If you really care about this issue, I recommend it.

crunchy of course, i used to like putting cereal in a glass, pour some milk and eat/drink it in my dad's car on our way to school (this way i get 10 extra mins of sleep every morning).

ugh, my younger brother did shit like this for years. he'd be chewing toast as he's running into the school. my mother used to go insane about it.

When I was young I ate lots of this:

and I liked it to be quite soft.  Eating it crunchy from a cereal bowl is like eating a blackboard.  Although popping one at a time directly from the packet is good.

crunchy of course, i used to like putting cereal in a glass, pour some milk and eat/drink it in my dad's car on our way to school (this way i get 10 extra mins of sleep every morning).

Simply ingenious.  Now I just need to find someone to drive me to work.

And I'll take "crunchy cereal" for 100.

In unrelated news, Demi appears to have completely fucking heismanned my XBL Friend offering. How should I get over being left at the prom with my corsage still in hand?

Cocoa Krispies are only good if they're soggy, because that's how you get the chocolate milk.

However, delicious Cracklin' Oat Bran is anathema once it turns soggy.  :-X

only eat cereal dry.

Milk has a consistency that is only slightly more runny than jism.

Crunchy, although there's at least one exception for me.  If I'm eating kashi, I'd rather have the milk soften it up a bit, since some varieties of it are kinda hard.
