What's wrong with time cards? The only bad thing is that the Gamestop employees give me stares. Not that I care what they think - they work at Gamestop afterall

I got to Best Buy around 10:15 and there was a line of 50-60 people.  They handed out vouchers for the Collector's Edition.  I was #38 of 49 CEs that they had.  More than enough regular editions were onhand to satisfy the crowd.  Between 10:30 and midnight the size of the line easily doubled.

Once the store opened up around midnight we got out the front door by 12:15 AM.  Played a couple rounds of Halo at my friend's hosue while he installed, and now I'm home and running the installation for myself.  I live on the East Coast, but my characters reside on a West Coast server -- hopefully I'll have a couple hours to play before everyone on the West coast gets their game and everything implodes.

I think the local BB has some CEs in stock since they didn't do a midnight, so going to run over there right when they open since I want the artbook and OMG the soundtrack.

#4 in line at BB. They had 12 CEs. One asshat at the end of the line ran up and tried to get in first. He was only there to scalp it on eBay too.

Got my first achievement (5 daily quests). Kinda startled me at first because I forgot the game had them now

Once I get back into rhythm I'll jump into some instances. Maybe run some lower levels; my fingers feel rusty

Off tanking meh. On one hand it's quite relaxing not having to worry about everything, on the other hand it's booring

I'm in Magister's Terrace now; the tank has been afk for awhile. I'm really liking the design of the place

Edit: The tank never came back so I tanked the last two bosses. The first boss fight (where you go against a 5 man group of elites) was pretty easy. Kael wasn't bad either. Our healer almost died at the last second but we managed to kill Kael first.

I got this: http://www.wowarmory.com/item-info.xml?i=34807  :bow

Blizzard wins: I bought LK today. Couldn't find anyone doing non-LK stuff so I had to join the party. Gonna install in a sec

Also I'm really digging these glyphs. I bought one that makes every Devastate I use sunder the target twice - great for tanking. I got another that sunders a nearby secondary target whenever I Devastate my primary target omg. :bow

And on my alt: mounts @ 30 :bow :bow :bow

The worst thing about low levels is trying to do shit running everywhere. Having a mount really opens the world up

welcome to the party

I'm 76, the expansion is so fucking tight so far, every zone feels awesomely cohesive and cool the way Ghostlands did in BC. Zul'Drak is fucking Angkor Wat 3000

the Wrathgate questline is also ZOMG, Battle For the Undercity is God Epic

fight alongside Thrall and Sylvannas in an instanced version of the Undercity against 20 mob waves while you and your party have uberbuffs to RECLAIM IT FROM THE SCOURGE BETRAYERS zomg so awesome you are Ultimate God Hero

Ran Utgarde Keep, which I hadn't done since the beta during the summer. This time my group had no problems with the bosses, although the last one killed me shortly after he resurrected. It's a nice, quick instance. Very easy.

If I was able to breeze through it with my blue/couple purple gear I bet people like Etoilet were completing it with their eyes closed

I finished Nexus about an hour ago. Beautiful instance, and very well designed; I'm really loving that these new instances can be fully cleared relatively quickly. We had no problems with the trash mobs but 3 of the 4 bosses gave us trouble.

Grand Magus Telestra: We wiped a couple times before our healer looked up the fight online and found out Telestra's clones can be sheeped. After we learned that it was easy

Anomalus: Wiped the first time simply because this fucker has a TON of health (192k). He's not that hard, you just have to kill the rifts he spawns

Ormorok: Simple tank n spank, although he does throw you into the air if you step on the crystals he puts in the ground

Keristrasza: We shouldn't have wiped on her. You just have to move around a lot, making sure she can't aim her fire attack at casters.

Lesson of the day: don't do Nexus unless you have heavy DPS and at least one mage. DPS for the bosses since they have a shit ton of hp, mage(s) for cc mainly on Telestra

Question - I can't find my old discs for WoW or BC.  Is there a client I can download them for free so long as I have my original account info?  I'm downloading the expansion right now....

If you go to the official site, log on to your profile, and there are client download tabs.

On a side note, grats to Cocco, 2nd place will be mine on Saturday!  :teehee

Stats doubled from 70-80.  It's practically a requirement if you're going to do a gear reset considering how powerful Sunwell epics were.  Level 80 blues from heroics are item level 200 (blues and Molten Core epics at level 60 were ~ item level 60-70).

Just finished Azjol-Nerub. I'm loving these short instances. With TBC instances I'd often have to turn down group offers because I knew I didn't have time to complete them. We just cleared Azjol-Nerub in less than an hour. Nice quest reward:

Yeah, you need ~2x the stat rating per point at 80 than you did at 70.

^ My armory.  0 raid items.  Only crated, rep, and heroics/emblem gear.  My flash of lights are 1.2 seconds (with judgments of the pure) and 1.05 seconds when my trinket procs.  I healed heroic Utgarde Pinnacle tonight with a pally tank who had improved devotion aura and I was critting for 5K with a 82% crit rate when sacred shield was up (seemingly most of the time).  Utterly ridiculous.

I finally got my epic flyer with a little donation from a guildie. I now have to return to maxing my LW so I can make the epic cloak. None of the LW epic gear is all that interesting for my Shaman, so I had sort of ignored it. Being JC/LW is nice as a caster, as I think you end up getting the most spell damage from profs out of it. The bop epic gems + 67 spellpower wrist kit.

I'm hoping the proposed Ele buffs work out and get to Live.

Akala and I had some fun this afternoon. We ran Gun'drak and it was a romp, even though our fucking tank was like "lols what is pulling, I just AOE spam everything, oh wow we got two patrols, how did that happen"

then we ran Utgarde Pinnacle - much smarter group, but our tank was 78, our healer was 79, and our 80s (self included) were still mostly rocking 75 blue gear. we cleared the minibosses okay but the last boss was HOLY SHIT evil. we tried four times and improved greatly but he involved all sorts of weird abilities and techniques that none of us were greatly familiar with.

Yesterday I tried to do Violet Hold...not a good idea. It's like Black Morass

After that failure I tried Drak'Tharon Keep which was pretty fun. Reminded me of the good ole' days of ZF. Only Novos the Summoner gave us trouble. First few times I was busy with the ads and he'd come alive behind the group and 4 shot the healer. So I just stayed next to the healer waiting for the boss to become active, then charged in and got the arrgo.

the big problem was tanks/leaders who would describe a fight as a "tank and spank" because, well, for them alll they do is tank and spank. but they would neglect to mention "he has a ranged attack on the farthest caster" or "he puts up a reflective spell shield" etc. etc. :P

Mana Tombs, yup. Not telling casters to stop attacking Pandemonius when his shield is activated=insta suicide.

Other than that it's a pretty easy instance. Nexus-Prince Shaffar is only tough if you ignore the ads

I've poopsocked my way to level 55. I can make a Death Knight now if I want to but I'm going to get my paladin to 80. 3 more levels and I can go to Outland! I've never been before.

Yesterday people in trade chat were wondering what the next hero class will be. Any thoughts from you guys?

A Blade Master would be awesome

depends on where they go with the expansion pack. for example, if they ever decide to do something with the emerald dream stuff, expect to see archdruids.
