There's plenty of single player fun to be had tho, eventually patches should fix multiplayer. Honestly tho multiplayer games wear me the fuck out

I'd say it's probably the best Diablo clone since Diablo 2.. as far as what I've played. It was a pain in the butt to get the game to run initially though, as it was telling me the disc wasn't in the drive. I finally found out I had to disable DLA on my drive. Would've been nice of them to tell me why it was refusing to run.

The game is also a real memory hog. Every humanoid enemy drops at the very least a weapon, but most of those break, so unless you really want to make trips to town to sell junk items for chump change every few minutes, the amount of items and corpses on the ground build up pretty fast. After a few hours of steady play I start to get missing graphics and stuff due to the game taking up way more memory than it should, and I have to restart, resetting the enemies.

Ok I just got to the second act, finally, and I must say, my druid is now pretty awesome. Got energy shield, storm nebula, then the nature stamina boost going, and im doing thunderballs and lightning strikes from the sky, I feel pretty cool.

Egypt seems great so far. Anubis Dog warriors dont like my THUNDER lolz.

I played last night and got an online game to go after more than a few tries.  A lvl 43 showed up and started rushing/powerling lus through, but then I had to go afk and got left behind.  Otherwise I'd be in Egypt. Instead I'm trying to make it to Delphi from Sparta, and failing.  I have the knossos portal open, don't know how to get to Egypt though. According to my quest log I beat the minotaur and just have to find suchandsuch in Egypt.

I have a level 8 Illusionist that I'm puting my points into the poison based stuff.  I figure the Nature plague, plus debuff and poison resistance debuff + rogue envenom weapon stuff should be nasty.

I'm running it on a on a athlon 3100+, 1gig ram and a 9600XT.

I was wondering what a druid entailed. Do you get to transform into anything? I know nature can summon a dryad.  Is there a storm transformation?

nah, same ol stuff as nature, but the storm offensive spells get insanely powerful

I finally got my req up to use the blue Heart of the Mountain gear I came across. I am not sure which weapon I want to use, daggers or staffs.

Hah I just discovered the way enemies fly back when you overpower them wit your attack. Now I'm going back through the start area and making beastmen fly through the air.

haha Yeah, the later storm spells send people flying all over.

 I made it to Act II, the first boss (a giant beetle) was pretty tough.

In act 2 I'm at Fayum, which is the fifth town I think.  I also got skipped to act 3 in an online game and later I beat the first boss and dungeon there in single player, which got me to level 21.

I still switch between staff and sword a lot, mostly situational.  Staff for bosses, sword and shielf for crowds. An illusionist is supposed to be a "hybrid" character. Whatever that entails. I just know my aoe dot damage does best when I get them to crowd around me, cast plague, drop smoke bomb and then poison bomb and pound away.

next character I make is storm and fire, which will be an elementalist I think. I cant imagine the reign of destruction

I made a second character when I got stuck with my first, a Thane. Warrior/Storm, does a lot of damage so far.

I'm playing a Conqueror, started with Defense and then got Warfare later. I've died a few times, but it's not too hard. with the armor requirement reductions you get from Defense, you can wear armor pretty early. Other than that, I just keep all the life stealing equipment I can get (still hoping for a fifth bat fang for my weapon.)

I just got through Athens and into Knossus. Hopefully Athens will have been the worst city for my PC, performance-wise, as the memory issues were getting a bit annoying.

Boo: in general how easy has your progress been. I have friends who use casters and friends who do melee, and the melee people seem to have a much harder time clearing bosses.

Ive since been under he impression casters get the edge.

Speaking of shitty netcode -- UT2004 has the WORST NETCODE EVER

Regular mobs are no problem, as most go down in a couple hits at most. Bosses can take longer and require that I pump potions, but by the time I get to any given boss I usually have 70-80 potions without buying any. I can use Rally to get a bit of healing plus some extra health regeneration, and on top of that I have Adrenaline Rush to get even more regen.

The most difficult situation for me is undead bosses with a lot of lackeys around them, because my life leech and life leech retaliation doesn't work there, so my life tends to drop at a much faster rate with undead groups.

Im doing Storm and Nature right now which of course is  a Druid. I was going to use the Ice shards and cheese with them late game *passthrough + multiple hgh damage shards lolz diablo 2 javazon* BUT I decided to go the lightning/thunderball route instead because its more satisfying early game AND late game and omg I look cool.

The elemental damage shield is very handy against casters and has saved me more than once. In the nature tree I started out using the wolf but then got pissed cause apparently self preservation is a skill I have to teach it higher up in the totem pole. So all I do is constantly recast fucking wolf wolf wolf. Gave up that, decided to put two points into that stamina boost life spell and pump em all into nature general to get to the rank I need for the Dryads summon.

Ended up being for the best since the Dryad is a range fighter, casts support spells, and doesnt try to tank. I HAVE 100 POTIONS I CAN TANK THANKS. I mostly get annoyed by constantly summoning a week helper.

The game itself crashes on me at least once a session, a fact I would be more upset about if not for the near flawless up to the minute recovery of my character each time.

My melee War/Storm is going a lot faster than my illusionist. The Thane relies on an occassional health pot, but I have to heal up my illusionist a lot more. The duel wield + storm nimbus + onslaught is good damage and the armor allows me to take more hits.
