I was at the biggest electronics store in the city the other day.  There were shitloads of copies of Wii Music just sitting there, unsold.  The stickers on the top row set of copies also means they sold very, very few.

Guitar Hero Aerosmith was also featured more prominently than this.   :P

Wii Music is an IQ test for the world

So far, Japan seems to be passing.  I'm sure they'll prove me wrong in time, though!

I'm sure it'll stay in the top 30 for the next year or so, just like the other Wii games.

Wii music is bombing?

HD gaming uprising imminent.

We've had it rough boys, but it seems everything will be just a-ok.

Wait for Wii Music to bomb.  Wait for Animal Crossing to bomb.  Wait for Wii Sports 2 to bomb.  Wait for...I'm not going down that road :(

Maybe it's the start of a Wii backlash. People were fooled into purchasing Wii Fit (and still are)...maybe they won't get fooled again

exactly.  It's pitiful stuff.  Lets just exclude it from even being a console and pretend that its inclusion in NPD and MC are flukes on account of the relic'd name "nintendo."

It isn't the end of the Wii but Wii Music is an embarrassingly poor effort from Nintendo, especially when compared to giants this season like Guitar Hero World Tour and Rock Band 2.  Nintendo incorrectly assumed that families would be playing Turkey in the Straw.  Parents like music as well and would rather play classic rock hits than an MIDI version of Yankee Doodle.  People can play with better replicas and play in a format other than fucking MIDI.

Wii Music would have done much better during a time when there were no major music game releases.  I have no doubt that enough distinguished mentally-challenged fellows will buy Wii Music to where it will sell a few million worldwide when it is all said and done.  I also have no doubt that Nintendo won't lose too much sleep over it because future cash cows Animal Crossing and Wii Sports 2 are looming over the horizon.

Although it is funny to see Miyamoto trash his own legacy by being a cheerleader for this squalid title.

it would be nice if people had any idea what MIDI is.

it stands for Melodic Instrument Dynamic Interface

If I remember my Sierra On-Line manuals correctly, I think it evolved out of the AdLib standard of the late 80s but I'm not sure

Slow week though.  Let's see how long it stays up on the top 10.  There just doesn't seem to be the same amount of hype and interest in Wii Music as there has been in other huge titles like Wii Fit.

I've already forgotten about the game.  This thread reminded me it even exists.   :lol
