Recommend a 360-friendly wireless router

My Linksys WRT54G blows. Problems galore when playing 360 games, the inability to assign a machine to the DMZ via MAC address, can not set it to open NAT for Halo 3, etc etc etc. Big ol' pile of poop. Whatchaall using? I am gonna buy a new one when I go to the USA today.

PS I don't care if it works with Wii lol

My Billion 7300G modem/router works well with the 360.  I'm pretty dumb at networking so I don't know if it does that stuff you mention, sorry.

It works with Wii lol.  At least, I can get on the Wii shop channel and things - never played online with it.

Now the issue I have is that if i manually assign an IP it gives me moderate NAT. if I leave it auto assign it gives me open. I have manually put the DNS in though

My Japanese router is a piece of shit.  I cannot seem to access its settings and it only allows for two devices to have internet at one time.  This is okay but really, really annoying when I am playing a game online and Mrs. the lyte edge wants to use her PC.

I bought a 10,000+ yen wireless router back in 2006 and it never worked for me.  My ISP refuses to help since I didn't buy it from them.     Then my JET successor comes and is like "wireless?  Oh yeah, I brought an Airport Extreme with me and it works great!"   :'(

But at least I can use my MacBook as a wireless hub for the Wii, DS, PSP, and iPod Touch.

I've got the MS officially-official wifi adapter on my 360, and it's driven by an original AirPort Express upstairs; it is connected to NTT's default wired router, which itself is set for IPv6 to avoid the NAT issues I was having under default config. I get pretty good connection overall, and I assume the full, newer AirPort wireless router would be better, since the antenna on the Express es muy pequeño.

Note: Cormacaroni, iirc, implied that IPv6 is to blame for my abysmal speed on "bit-torrenting all those Linux ROMs I'm helping to distribute."

yup - same for me connect too many devices (more than 1 it seems) via wireless and the whole thing shats itself as soon as possible! 

Is this the ISP router/modem given to you? Or a Linksys such as the one the OP has?

A large number of things can affect your wireless signal.

Bluetooth devices
Phones
Microwaves ovens
etc...

Also, if I remember correctly, and this could be wrong, from your pc to the wireless router requires a lot of error checks to make sure you receive the data properly.

But count me in the group who have the same kind of router as the OP with no issues with the 360.
