Getting at sites and pop3 mail from behind firewall?
« on: October 20, 2008, 06:07:09 AM »
Are there any sites that specialise in this?

I used to use pop3now.com and a few other sites, but they've clearly blocked all mail related keywords and URLS. Things like "imap", "pop3", "smtp", "mail", "webmail" etc

Workarounds for getting at sites in general would be helpful.

I know a few of the IT guys, but I don't think they'd be able to allow me to circumvent it without putting themselves at risk really. I only really want my email. Which, when I've got credit, I can get on my phone... I might set up my laptop at home to auto-forward it to my work address or something.  :-\

If your mail is webmail based, and its open, you might want to try an open proxy site? But then again, if they are already blocking the mail based text, its likely they are blocking those too.
