MAY 4, 2009 – Enter Lionhead Studios’ world of whimsy to catch a glimpse of the new adventures that await the heroes of “Fable II” in the much anticipated second Game Add-on, “See the Future,”  which will be available from May 13 on Xbox LIVE®.

In this latest behind-the-scenes diary episode, the team chats about the continued storyline, wacky characters and design choices for “See the Future,” including the creation of 250 fun Achievement points and a trip down memory lane to the original “Fable.”

As an added bonus, all Xbox LIVE Silver account members are invited to join in on the adventurous LIVE co-op festivities during the complimentary Multiplayer Unlocked Weekend! Created specifically for “Fable II” fans, this Multiplayer Unlocked Weekend will be accessible in all LIVE-enabled regions where “Fable II” is available, starting May 9 at 5:01 a.m. (Australian Eastern Standard Time), and concluding on May 12 at 4:59 a.m. (Australian Eastern Standard Time).

The “Fable II” Game Add-on, “See the Future,” will be available for download exclusively on Xbox LIVE Marketplace from May 13 for 560 Microsoft Points for the premium content package. “Fable II” is available exclusively on Xbox 360® and is rated “M” for Mature.

So the new DLC is available on the 13th but the free co-op time ends on the 12th? ???

You can still play co-op without See The Future you know

Btw

If anyone has both DLCs, I will re-rent this game if you let me join in and piggyback the achievements using the free co-op-only DLC verison

Fnished the Knothole achievements now, time for See The Future.

I've decided I hate the storyline+combat in this game but everything else is awesome

Interaction with NPCs is also terrible. As is treasure hunting/exploration. And item management. And the jobs.

They're not great but I can put up with them more than the story or combat. It's just charming enough to hide the shallowness

I downloaded See The Future on the weekend but haven't had a chance to look at it yet.

In spite of the flaws, I realised I love playing this game when I feel like relaxing.  I wish the game had a ton more quests to keep me occupied.

Biggest flaw to me is that there's no reward for exploring - you find a cool place and get a fucking health potion or something equally lame.  I'm amazed Lionhead are so totally clueless on this issue.

I dont mind exploring, but as you said you'll usually find a dig spot or chest with a potion. There's not much reason to do it.

I wish console games would be more like their PC counterparts and put more random shit in their game. And I dont just mean random low level items, I mean random weapons/gear/whatever. Give me a reason to explore other than finding some shitty book or key. Fallout 3 sort of achieved this by placing skill books around and not holding your hand.

At least give me the perception that I could find some game altering weapon somewhere.

I find the skill books and bobble heads provide lots of incentive to go exploring, Fable just needs something like that.  Even some decent XP potions would be an improvement.  Amazing that Lionhead go to the trouble building an entire little island or temple or cave and then stick a $100 health potion in it.

Even the "big" rewards like $50,000 near the end of the game are laughable as you'll no doubt have accumulated millions of dollars.

Oh hell yes, I'm just saying it would be an improvement over the crap they fill the chests with now.

If there were ever a game made of nothing but filler, this game is it. Hours and hours of unrewarding meandering followed by the most anticlimatic ending of all time.

The opening theme is awesome. Could have stopped there.

Dire news! We need you to handle a nefarious herd of ne'erdowells plaguing the good people of Albion. Take this note for the details, report back to me here in Westcliff when you've ridded the world of this peril.

Note: "Kill beetles in Bowerstone."

Interesting gamasutra note on how the drama was handled on a soundstage, and how "placeholder actors" were allowed to ad lib, allowing rewrites of the script prior to the big names being brought in:

Personally I don't really recall much about the "acting" of models in Fable II that was impressive, excepting Reaver's role at his estate. Maybe the opening with the kids? That stuff was cool.

I don't remember much about the script, pacing or motions but it certainly got the job done such that it wasn't annoying or anything.

I remember I thought the voice acting all the way through was good though.

Stephen Fry was incredible.

Yeah, he was pretty much the best thing going in that game. Theresa was good in terms of tone of voice, but she went beyond "mysterious character" into "condescending, know-it-all, pain in the ass" over the course of the game.

I thought some of the lines you overheard in pubs were hilarious.  Unfortunately I can't find a website that lists them but one I recall was someone lamenting how they'd love to find a way to play pub games remotely from their own home or something.
