How fuckin boring is this storyline? And I know Dexter has always been really far fetched, but its now headed into distinguished mentally-challenged territory.

I was wary after watching the first 2 episodes (except the end of the second). I stopped watching after the third because I was getting frustrated watching a week to week show and I decided to wait until the whole thing aired. Beyond the first two meh episodes, I haven't said anything negative about season 2.

The new episode was pretty good. Jimmy Smits is awesome. I think the real problem this season is that there's not enough Dexter. It just seems like all the shitty other characters are around and being shitty. They all have their boring side plots that are zzz. Dexter really carries the show in spite of the rest of the bad cast.

This was the problem in the 1st two seasons also. Will they get a promotion? Will they make up with their ex?

Definitely. At least the first two seasons. They're golden.

To be honest, I did enjoy this season I just felt that it has become formulaic. Jimmy Smits was terrific as well; he should win an Emmy for his potrayal as Miguel Prado. They really have to stop focusing on the peripheral characters, however. I don't care about Mazuka's and Bastita's love lives.

This season finale was far more anti-climatic than the previous two and a rather dull, tidy ending to what was building up to a tension filled hour. I enjoyed this season a lot and the interaction between Miguel and Dexter was gold, but this seemed like sloppy show running from a production that had been totally great the last two seasons.

Season three was great - I was iffy on it at first, but it turned into my favorite season of Dexter (s3>s1>s2). Such a great show, I'm so excited for season 4.

We're watching S1 on demand right now. Somehow we've never seen it all the way through? So weird. We watched both S2 & S3 religiously as each episode premiered.

I guess since I knew what was going to happen, I never watched S1, but so far it's filling my much needed Dexter fix.

The first 3 episodes? You should give it more time than that. I thought it was decent through that point, but it really really picks up. Each season is a bit of a slow burn, and I think the first season is most guilty of that - though that makes sense since you're being introduced to the characters.

Don't give up on it yet man. One of the best series I've seen in a long time.

Three hours. I gave it three hours. And every hour was worse than the one before it. I don't think I can take another, yo. The Wire ruined me.

Finally finished burning through all 3 seasons, shit rox. I didn't notice it until S3, but pretty much every character that isn't named Dexter (except Doakes, I loved that burly nikka) is fucking annoying. I don't know if they started giving them all more screen time or what, but I actually had to fast forward through some of the minutiae in the 3rd season. Get off my TV, Deb, I don't give a shit what guy you are banging this season.

Obviously Prado was the exception in S3; Smits' performance was perfect, and the whole ADA arc was great. I was so happy when he killed that ugly defense attorney

I really hope that they tie up the show within the next 2 seasons, though; it already feels like they're going to start falling back on old formulas, and it'll be a shame if they end up dragging it out.

I don't know why, but the voice-over is one of my favorite things about the show. And for you being a fan of The Wire, I'd think you could muster up the patience to force down another 2 or 3 episodes. Besides, the 4th ep is when stuff really starts to take off.
