Call of Duty: Zombies At War

In the latest edition of GameTrailers TV, Treyarch announced their newest Call of Duty: World at War game mode; the "Nazi Zombie" co-op mode.

The Nazi Zombie mode allows up to 4 players to team up together to take on wave after wave of the Nazi undead. The mode is available after you finish the solo campaign and allows players to purchase new weapons and build barracades to aid their zombie war.

There are limitless waves of zombies and it'll be essential that you use the rewards to board the windows and such if you are going to be successful. If you want to kick Treyarch's ass at their own game, then all you have to do is beat wave 23.

Zombie modes seem to be all the rave now, with Saints Row 2 and Call of Duty embracing additional zombie modes; and Left 4 Dead creating a whole game about it. I suppose the world needs more zombies.

If you want to see more of this World at War mode head on over to GameTrailers.

now when you say "purchase new weapons", two questions spring to mind.

1. Actual purchases, like microtransactions?
2. Do these weapons take the Wolfenstien homage any further then the scenario already does?

and as an aside, I'm totally cool with this being a zombie season, or the birth of a new and standard zombie feature in new games.  I'd rather have zombies in my shooters then a two-gun inventory.

LOL, L4D fuckowned by the throwaway bonus mode in COD5. PC Gaming just can't catch a break.

Unlikely; Left4Dead is based around multiplayer, and this is almost certainly a one-sided co-op feature. L4D's big problem will be if enough people aren't playing it to provide a robust community of players, supporting all levels of difficulty. Even at this stage of the game I wonder if doing a full retail cost, multiplayer-only game is brave, or still just foolish.  (see: Shadowrun)
