Is there any way to cheat in Ninja Gaiden 2?

The last chapter is so damn cheap.  I autosaved the whole way and now I can't back track to get more healing items for the last fight.   :-\

The jump in difficulty is ridiculous.  I was breezing my way through the game until this last chapter.

I could probably beat it eventually if I keep repeating the boss fights but there're too many games out recently for me to focus on just NG2.

yeah -- equip the scythe, then press a, x, x, y. it's a secret code that makes everything die.

once you figure out his pattern it's an easy fight.

just dodge everything until he charges you and goes into distinguished mentally-challenged fellow mode (walking into the wall). once he does that whail on em.

I equip the scythe for every boss fight.  It just sucks that I suddenly can't rely on healing items.  It's like the game is intentionally punishing gamers who had to use healing items to get that far.

I guess I could probably beat the game if I could it make it pass Dagra Dai (the priest) without healing.

dagra dai is probably the #1 candidate for the secret scythe code -- he's a bastard if you don't use it and a pushover if you do

NG2 is ass.

ASS.

bury it in your backyard, w/ a rosary, maybe pour some rubbing alcohol on it, and then salt the mother fucking earth so nothing ever grows there.

Isn't there better games out right now?

After you chop off one of the enemy's limbs, press Y to kill them instantly while completely invincible to other enemy attacks.

Yes, it's called the Eclipse Scythe.

Damn I was beaten.

:bow Eclipse Scythe  :bow2

It's all I used for the 2nd half of the game and the game went from HARD AS FUCK to pretty easy.  I think it was jump X,Y,Y,Y that destroys everything and keeps you in the air so you dodge all attacks below you.

Still a shame but Ninja Gaiden 2 kinda sucks  :'(

there are a million things wrong with ninja gaiden 2, but i still think it's pretty great. mission mode more than the actual game. i'm going to go back at some point and do the higher difficulties -- though perhaps its biggest problem is that the harder it gets the more you want to rely on scythe air combo bullshit

There are a handful of good levels.  There are just as many or more bad levels and on top of that almost every boss fight is shit.

I liked slicing things up, because decapitating demons is always good times, but it's like they took the great NG core mechanics and gave it to someone who made a shitty game with it.  It's better than DMC2 because DMC2 even had the mechanics raped, but it's pretty poor IMO.

DMC3>God Hand>NG>>>>>>>>DMC4>>>>>>>>>>>NG2.  Hopefully Bayonetta will save the genre on HD hardware.

The best thing Ninja Gaiden 2 had going for it was being able to continue on bosses and not have to reload the last save and sit through cutscenes or plow through enemies every time.  I <3 action games that let me continue directly on bosses and keep retrying them until I learn all their patterns and beat them.  See NG2, DMC3 JPN or SE, Shinobi PS2, etc...

Also it made boss rushes ridiculously easier since you just had to beat one at a time because it would continue on the current one and not at the start of the rush.

:lol I forgot about the 1 min load screens after every 3 hit death.  I guess they were so painful my mind erased them >_<

Yeah, NG2 with no loading would've been a hell of a lot better game.

I think the game just needed more work in general.  I'm still amazed that the game had to load for open the weapon menu when touching the d-pad.  There were also a bunch of locations where the levels would start loading as you were fighting, and not only that, but would repeat load the old areas if you managed to step over the invisible line.  The lack of polish was so odd considering how amazing the first game was in that aspect.

the last few chapters own so hard.

The game needs some work though. I hate the game over screen. It's so sloooooowwwwww and yellooowwwwww and blah. And it takes forever to load the next screen, God. I hate that game over screen so much. It makes me want to puke because it slows everything in the game down, cranks it to 5 fps and splashes a shit load of yellow over everything.

Fix the load times, fix some of the boss fights, and you have the definitive 3d action game. Of course, it's the definitive 3d action game already so it's not like it matters. Only God Hand and NG1 come close.

fix the boss fights? more than half of them should have been removed.  Some of the worst boss fights in any game.  If there were more fights like the Genshin one it would be so much better.

Oh, and the random bow fetish Itagaki became really annoying.

I wouldn't say some of the worst boss fights in a game. If you think that, you should play more games or something.

Genshin fights ruled but you fought him like...5 times. Jesus Christ.

What's wrong with using the bow? People complain when weapons like that aren't used because they're throwaway items. When they are used and necessary to win, they complain they're lame. What?

If you can think of other games that have worse boss fights, then throw them out there.

The bow is sweet.  In-air firing is awesome in Sigma.  Ninja Gaiden II does not exist.

Sigma isn't the best version of NG, I don't recommend it unless you're PS3 only, but it has in-air bow firing (that's all I was saying.)  But yeah, it's still better than NG2...it's an NG1 game.  NG2 is the biggest letdown ever.

That's one (I never fought it, but I'll take your word on it).  I'm talking about a collection of bad bosses that you are forced to fight, sometimes even twice.
