well as a fix, maybe that there should be a crackdown on pointless threads-- just like pointless unsubstantial 1-2 line threads are sometimes sent to Opa's Toilet on OA, these should be locked more often here

and when there is forum drama with a poster in particular, well instead of letting everyone starting his own thread and go apeshit over this, well these could maybe be locked too, so that only one thread per "event" is allowed-- that way everyone can still express his/herself just as freely over anything and there'd be far less clutter
