I came across a song "Dirty" by Tobacco featuring Aesop Rock on vocals that has inspired me to right some rap. I figured i'd share my first piece with all of you incase some of you had some hits you've also written:

Upper Crust

What I lack in Compassion
I make up in comprehension
a world based on pensions
of those who created this tension

of feelings of hope and desolation
I don't really care for the creation
Of a new world order based around recreation
creating bullshit related to appropriate aproximation

I don't understand what brought us to this world
Or why our most homely position is that of a curl
But what I know the most is that you are my girl
I'd even consider taking your gersch

People ask how we do this, how we complete this task
and the truth is that we'd vastly perfer to bask
in the glory of the limelight while sipping from a flask
what it comes down though is that we just never asked

hopped up on drugs almost every single night
it's how we managed to avoid the elusive knife
a ever present battle between real life
and the forces of evil becoming rife

in our minds, competing for the limited space
while maintaining a semi-balance just in case
we don't make it out alive and end up out of place
wishing we could erase it from our memory trace

It's just that sometimes when I see you looking at me
it's like a bright red signal imitating a marquee
that you'd be better off to a tolerable degree

cause without all this i'd be nothing but a bust
trying to make ends meet while constantly trying to adjust
infact it's just that what makes me show you some trust
that you'll forever remain with me, from nothing to the upper crust
