I got my 120GB HDD retail, so I got the transfer cable. If you get it used or from china, you don't get the cable.

So If anyone needs it, let me know.

Can someone confirm if this is true for all regions?  I have a Japanese 360 and was planning on buying a 120gb HD when I go back to the States.

I remember reading on gaf a little while ago that apparently the transfer from 20GB to 60GB will work, but only if the 360 is one that originally came with a 20GB drive.

Maybe see if you can find more info, but it's worth a try at least.

This is true, every version is region locked. However, I did the transfer by doing it on a friend's American 360 console with no problems

No you need to use the disc in order to start the transfer. There is a way to use 3rd party software to copy the hdd to your computer and then transfer it onto the new hdd.

sorry to bump this thread but does anyone have a transfer cable that they are willing to part with?  I have a buddy who just bought a 60gb hdd and, of course, it didnt come with the cable....I am more than willing to pay for shipping. Just send me a PM. Thanks.
