AKA Why the hell cant you fuckers throw in Mask of the Phantasm? Huh?
The Batman the Animated Series seasons have been repackaged into a set that is no doubt, a FINAL EDITION off to one of the best, if not the best, comic to cartoon adaptation out there. They've taken the discs from each individual season release, and packed them into two, triple wide DVD cases. When I say they are packed, they are PACKED in those cases. Resting on top of these two cases is a paperback

art book with high quality concept art from the series, but honestly, paying 75 bucks here, at least do a cheapo hardcover! With the art are the episode lists for all four seasons. These items are packed in a, I have to admit, very stylish matte surfaced black box, with a neat matte/gloss contrast mural under the lid. Include a plastic slip cover with BATMAN to keep the lid closed and you have a pretty classy package.
Still, corners were cut. You package this shit up like its the end all be all and you dont include the movie. Fail. You celebrate the art of the show on the box and in the art book, but the artbook has the durability of the 'Valkyria Chronicles' art book I got with the game. SEGA just beat you at an artbook. How about the disc art? You couldnt reprint some discs with new awesome collectors edition badass disc art? I mean as you open it up you kind of get this ahhhh yes, then you open the cases and its like 'oh...'. Its like getting a car with a new exterior and a used interior, or having willco eat a delicious sundae in front of you- a big one.
So if you dont own all four seasons this is a good buy. If you are obsessed with collecting this may also be a good buy, as I suspect they may do this for other shows like Justice League and Batman Beyond.
