alright, my home router is a piece of shit. it's a linksys wireless-n router (barely; it supports draft 1 of 802.11n) yet n-capable devices choke or hang connecting to it. it also spontaneously resets itself, and seems on the way to croaking. i have owned three wireless routers in the last two years, all of which were linksys because in my experience they only die every six months instead of every three. (netgears are an abomination.)
best router i had was an old microsoft wireless-b router that lasted two-and-a-half years and is now still plugging along at my parents' house. supposedly, this router was a dire piece of crap yet it keeps on keepin' on, whereas my highly rated linksys routers keel over.
tvc has a theory involving comcast and routers (comcast is also my isp), and possibly linksys and torrents.
since buffalo is no longer making routers, WHAT IS AN ACTUAL GOOD WIRELESS BGN ROUTER. i will spring for a cisco small biz router if it means i don't hafta spend an evening every six months reconfiguring the ten million internet-enabled devices in my house with a new and probably sketchy wpa2 password, and then rigorously checking to see if they all work with said router (usually about 80% play nice).
help!
also i will entertain theories about comcast and the work of satan. note that my dislike for linksys and the home router market in general makes me the equivalent of jack the ripper in victoria-era london according to the greater etoilet theory of geometrically temporal-regressive intolerance, so factor that against your stated internet mores when advising me!
