Game is ugly, but...

ok, I posted that before watching the trailer.

Game looks like an upscaled PS2 game.  It's even choppy  Oh but the actual gameplay looks super hot.  Not a bit fan of how they are adding a semi-QTE aspect to countering, but I guess after the super easy 'insta-kill' counter from WotS2, they had to do something.   toothed katana!  this game looks fucking awesome outside of graphics.

watching this a third time, yeah, this game has hideous graphics. Like, it's actually a bit depressing that Tenchu 4 looks better than this.  Samurai Warriors Katana probably looks better than this.  Still, the gameplay looks amazing.

Yeah, the fist style actually looks really fun.

Outside of combat the game maybe looks like an Xbox1 game at times.  In combat it looks like Samurai 1/2 aka. PS1 game.  I think they re-used all the animation ^^;

The QTE stuff looked bad IMO.  In fact, most of the combat didn't look very good in that trailer.  But the last two games had great gameplay, so hopefully that'll be the case here.

Man, if this is the best they could do with a SP game.  I fear for how Way of the Samurai Online will look if it ever comes out on the X360.  Also one reason Samurai 3 might look so shit is MassiveAttack said on gaf a while ago that the Samurai 3 team got screwed over by management to the point where he thought the game was going to be cancelled.  This might be the scrap left of an unfinished game.
