I got Titan Quest for $5!

Finally, something good makes its way to the Best Buy clearance rack!  Of course Wrath of the Lich King is a mere 24 hours away so it probably won't see much playtime, but what the heck it was 5 bucks.

After Too Human I had been wanting to try a cool dungeon slasher like Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance, but seeing Diablo 2 all blown up to 1440x900 was just to hideous.  So I guess this is my compromise.

What should I expect from this game?  Isn't there some kind of fan-made aftermarket patch that is necessary to make it fun?

I thought for sure I remember Drinky once mentioning that there was some fan-patch that greatly enhanced the experience.

Maybe I have this game confused with Vampire: Bloodlines.  Another game I hope to one day purchase for $5 and play less than 15% of.

also, start the game from immortal throne, NOT the original -- it has the original campaign plus all the changes that raised the game from a b- to a+++++

There aren't even real dungeons in this game.  You run across land and through one or two room caves.  That was my biggest complaint...otherwise, it's awesome, but the Immortal Throne expansion is the full experience.

Get the expansion first, and then start the game through the expansion and not the original title like I did.   

I finished TQ a couple months ago, loved it.  Hacking and slashing and pillaging and looting!  Fun fun fun.

I am starting IT soon.

It had random crashes the last time I installed it but I was playing it on Vista X64.
