I hoped.

no.

I prayed this game would be better going into the Russian campaign.
But it still sucks. Worse yet they try and rip off the COD4 sniper mission. And they fail every step of the way.

Played today and got 18 and played hardcore. Holy shit it's sweet. Stuff like crouching and iron sights actually matter. For some reason my performance was much better in hardcore mode.

Me too. I fucking owned in Hardcore, but I tihnk everyone tends to do a bit better just because it levels the playing field.

Also, DO NOT LET YOUR TEN YEAR OLD SON PLAY. Some dude was like "I'm gonna let my kid play" and this kid just SCREAMED "I WANNA THE TANK I WANNA THE TANK" and then he ran around fucking up his own team.

Single Player Review:

What the. The Pacific Theater levels all fucking blow, except for the very first one. The Russian levels are like B- versions of other WWII game levels, but the ending is fuck yeah awesome.

Nazi Zombie mode is super fun, even if it is stocked with glitches and exploits. Too bad you get ZERO XP for a 30 MINUTE INVESTMENT

Single player:

Overall very good. As average as the US Marine missions are, the Russian missions are amazing. I didn't notice endlessly respawning enemies either like in Modern Warfare. When you took enough out, your AI teammates would move forward and the mission would move along. The tank mission, sniper mission, and Catalina mission were all incredible.

Multi:

Just as good as 4 if not better thanks to more modes, better weapons and more authentic maps. Plus no more brown tone on everything.

I thought the second-to-last russian level where you enter german buildings and end up in the subway was really awesome.  Grabbing the shotgun and then clearing out an entire floor with industrial music blaring in the background was really awesome.

Getting the flamethrower and frying everyone for the first time was pretty cool, too.  Too bad most of the pacific missions revolved around just that.

I wish i could have gotten through the game. Pisses me off that I couldn't stomach it any longer. There haven't been many games that I simply stopped playing before beating it due to it being terrible.
Dead Rising being the only other one I can remember in recent time.

I used to hate tanks as well. Now that I have extra class slots from prestiging though, I just leave a Garand class with a sticky grenade and C4 open at all times just for tank whores. They're not much of an issue anymore.

The exploits are getting out of control.  It used to be just the random douchebag that did it on Roundhouse, but now people are able to exploit in several other maps.  This needs a patch or I quit.
