Quote
The newest issue of EGM, the one with Watchmen's Rorschach on the cover, contains a rumor that the unannounced game that Eternal Darkness and Too Human developer Silicon Knights is prepping for Sega may have to find a new home. The title is said to be looking for a new publisher but doesn't expound upon the reasoning for the alleged change.

We were told by Sega reps back in June to expect the unveiling of the Silicon Knights project "in the coming months" after a video, incorrectly identified to be that project, was leaked from market research firm Intellisponse.

We've contacted Sega reps to get confirmation on the rumored change in plans.

What a shame! :teehee

Sega dropped Silicon Knights' game, but picked up The Conduit.

Let me repeat that.

I almost feel sorry for Dyack

Eternal Darkness was overrated and Twin Snakes got a free pass because it was the first console Metal Gear on a Nintendo system since the NES.  He just let himself fall into the hype and believed that he was anything other than a C list developer.

Now he no longer has the fawning adulation of Nintendo fans and reality is treating him poorly.

Dyack should've picked Sony for his project.  They seem to be funding a lot of over budget crap that sell poorly plus, as an added bonus, Sony fans are the new Nintendo fans so they would have had his back.

Er, Sony fans aren't the ones that buy, and like, anything and everything. He was absolutely in the right bed for Too Human.

Too Human could have been the new Uncharted.

Conduit looks like a mess visually, but admittedly what they're doing with the controls and weapons is somewhat interesting.  I don't know if that will make it a good game in the end since from the videos the enemies seem boring to fight.  The weapons are pretty cool despite the horrible design of them.  That shoots two shots and can be spun by spinning the Wii remote is a cool idea.

But in no way does it deserve the amount of gushing it has gotten from Wii fans. Then again very few wii games warrant any type of hype, and this is certainly better than most of the other games out there that are getting attention.  Dead Rising Wii has followers? come on now

yeah Nintendo fans are the saddest bunch. Theres that AusGAF thread, at GAF, where poor aussie ninfag VOOK seems to think that If youre a PAL gamer you get raped by "5 months later and double the price". That is only true for Nintendo products. Majority of 360 and PS3 software is released simulataneously worldwide. I might have to go into that thread and tell him that. The only notable exception is Namco Bandai stuff which Atari published in PAL, 6 months after  :'( still waiting for Vesperia

The Old Gods toast their victory over evil but are interrupted by a knock on the door - which then explodes to review the 12 disciples plus Jesus decked in an exoskeleton battlesuit.

Baldur, the main character, kills Hel. Loki, who Baldur should've been after, escapes beforehand and awakens a snow giant or something to kill all the gods or whatever with. Cliffhanger ending.

That's the ending? big deal.  That could be covered with a fanfic or some shit.  Shenmue 2 has a better cliffhanger ending.

Why can't sega bankroll Shenmue 3 and then cancel it?  O god that would be glorious.

At this point I'm so into Shenmue that I would want that to happen if only for the script to be written up and published somehow after the actual 'game' went under.

I actually have a list next to my bed of things I won't do before I die, so I shouldn't attempt them.  Only two things are on that list:

1) Go to Jupiter
2) Find out if Ryo would ever get revenge on Lan Di

I heard the hero of the game was a He-Man-like character named Denis and his arch enemy was a skinny kid named Tyler.

It was kind of like a next gen Adventures of Willy Beamish, only with dual analog combat.

If I was rich, I'd pay off Hostess to refuse selling any of its products to Dyack.  I understand that will be a lot of money but I just have to keep my expenses low enough.

From what I heard, it was never even shown to anyone, either, so it must have been really early, which is weird because it had apparently been in dev for somewhere between 1 and 2 years.

A bit like the revolutionary combat system in Too Human, then? Is he absolutely certain they didn't say "revolting?"

1 or 2 years? Sounds about right for an SK game.
