eeehhhhhh i really don't know about this. the sonic levels are good fun, and seemingly less fragile than past 3d sonics, which were always teetering on the edge of messiness or glitchiness. and the visuals and music are excellent. but the proportion of sonic levels to OTHER SHIT seems really low. the werehog levels are, i suppose, tolerable, but that airplane qte level was sheer torture, particularly since i still associate 'abxy' with their snes positions. i don't know if i want to play this when i've got like four presumably better games sitting in shrinkwrap. i wish i could just play and replay the sonic levels and have done with it

Check Curse's level breakdown, it's like 60% Sonic.

There are only 2 Tails levels. One at the beginning, and one at the end. The rest is Sonic/Werehog - and it's majority Sonic levels, if you look at my (not Curse's, just fyi) breakdown of Acts.

Wait till you get the bonus stages, drohne. For example, in Adabat and there are two bonus day acts. One is 2D all the way through, it's like a race around a 3-lap course where in each lap you get new traps and enemy placements, and it gets progressively harder. The second is a quickstep challenge on the docks that tests your reflexes. They're both pretty fucking awesome.

Seriously man. It took me like 40 minutes and I still got a B rank.

The first time I attempted the 'final boss' they kept alternating ground pounds so that I went from like 90% health to 0% with no control of my character. It was like Lost Planet x 100.

Somehow slaughtered them on my second attempt though.

I also had to pause it and look up help in that room with the floating blue guys and the big fan blade. That was distinguished mentally-challenged. Then when you finally kill them all, you slide down a tunnel that launches you right into a hole unless you jump to reach the checkpoint

And if you wallride on the area before that, it forces you right into another hole.

there are no glowing parts, so I guess I need medals then.  damnit

Check overworld cities day and night, I didn't realize till the end that there were different medals.

I only got stuck on medals twice - right before the first Holoska stage (when I realized what medals even were) and then right before the Apatos Sonic stages. Didn't wind up bothering me too much.

Game is 8/10 to me. Completely eradicates SA1.

And all the souvenirs are bought in shops right? What is the use of those random items you find like tea, maiden statue, crystal  ball etc? Do you need to buy from Wentos to get them all? I ran into him but he ran away.

You buy all souvinirs from shops and Wentos. Wentos randomly appears in a town (and stays there until you find him), then when you talk to him / buy from him, he runs away to another town and you repeat the process. The starred items are for quests you will get. They are not required for any achievement.
