Yeah.  I couldn't play the import more than 30 mins.  I love Suda long time, but this game seems shit.

Also Patel got me a used copy of it in Japan and the copy SMELLS LIKE SMOKE.  Like REALLY REALLY SMELLS.  Even the cartridge.  Another reason why I'll never open it again. :\

WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT

Is that the same for the retail release?  This isn't just some hacking thing?  I mean does this mean even when I buy the English version it will play in Japanese on my DSi?   :-\

Can you confirm a language option in the menu settings?  GameFAQqers are saying there is one.  If so imma buy tomorrow.

Yes there is a language option, but it uses your system settings as a default I imagine.

Bought.  This is one of the few J-RPGs I ever liked.  Got to the future world in the SNES version and that was about it, as I remember.

Is this named after the Boris song?

The Boris and Merzbow rendition

Bububu the ineptness is part of the charm. When the game's glitching out on you its really Suda's post-modern meta-textural commentary.... :spin

.

As much as I wanted to like Killer 7 and No More Heroes for their kookiness, I was left dry by the terrible gameplay.  And I can do terrible games, but in both of those cases it was beyond the pale terrible.

Killer 7 was unique, not in a good way, but I still found enjoyment in it.  If No More Heroes was just an arcade type game where you played each level and upgraded weapons/clothing based on your actions as you play, it would have been so much better.  Not to say the actual combat stuff is amazing or something, because it's not, it's still enjoyable none the less.
