Eh, the videos and IGN's review actually make it look actually kinda okay, if you like Castlevania.


But yeah, major WTF at Death's design. I can at least see what Obata was going for with the other guys, but Death's design is just recockulous. They should have just given him his classic hooded robe to cover up all that ugly spike crap. Heck, put animu chains and zippers and mystic circles on the robe, just don't make him some kind of spiky metal worm leg thing.

Though yeah, I actually kinda like Trevor's design. He actually looks like a badass hero here instead of the Ayami Kojima girly-man in Curse of Darkness.

This game is fun.  There is a castle mode where you basically go into different stages and do objectives (basically like Soul Calibur).  The reason it's fun and different than Soul Calibur is that since it's an arena fighter, having more than one enemy at a time isn't an issue.  There are situations where it's you vs a giant monster while zombies are popping up, things like that.  The actual combat itself in these scenes is better than the PS2 Castlevania games.

The game is okay, but art design is shit. One of 1up's interns was too harsh on it though. Probably a 7.5-8.0 game. Good if you enjoyed Power Stone.

After a certain point, a Castlevania fan just stops caring as long as the characters vaguely resemble their old selves. They get angered and call Konami stupid every time the art changes into something even dumber than before, but it's just going through the motions.
