I think that I've actually had more fun in Oblivion than in Fallout 3 so far, but I haven't beat it yet so that may change. As for repairing in Oblivion, I actually prefer it more than Fallout 3's repair system. In Oblivion, you gain experience by just doing anything, for instance you gain repair XP by repairing equipment/weapons. It does require that you carry repair hammers, but that beats the hell out of having to carry around duplicate items as in Fallout 3 imo. Also, there is an incentive to repair items in Oblivion because when you reach a certain level in the skill you can repair equip/weapons past 100% which gives them an additional attack/defense bonus as well as more durability.
