Let me just say how sorry I am this happened. I honestly didn't think it would make all this money when I went to see it Friday night. I honestly thought it would be a flop like HSM3.

HSM3 only cost 11 mil and has made over 200 million worldwide. I don't think Disney see's that as a flop

You're all missing the silver lining here: it made $70M, yes, but it made OVER HALF of that on Friday alone. Ridiculously shitty drops within a single weekend. Probably a 70% drop coming next weekend too. In brief, all the obsessed fans basically went and saw it Friday. Now there is no one left who gives a damn.

You seem really confused. You said it might beat TDK. TDK made like 160 million opening weekend. Nearly 100 million MORE than Twilgiht did. Where do you get the idea it can beat it?

AND HSM3 was one of the most profitable movies of the year. Huge success for disney.

I dont doubt that the fans will go see it several times. I just think that the "hardcore" Twilight fanbase isnt big enough to keep this afloat for long. Then again, what the fuck do I know - I hadnt even heard of Twilight a month ago.

Twilight is what harry potter fans moved on to pretty much. It is taking in the potter girls and the fangirls that ruined the Buffy series. That's a pretty rabid force.
