What if another tales game is released on the 360? Would that be the jrpg of the generation?

if another Tales game is released for the 360 it will be the Tales B-team and not be as good as Vesperia

Why does everyone have a B team? Don't they understand that B team normally sucks?

in the case of videogames it's because you want to annualize your franchises but it takes 2 years to make a game

The demo is ass, much like Burnout Paradise's.

The game does have its fair share of sugary animu crap, though.

the game is kind of animu, but it has good writing and remarkably good VO, making it extremely tolerable

I hate animu and I was able to finish it just fine. there aren't any serious eyerolling moments until the last third

I really couldn't stand the animu shitstorm when I played the demo. Is the demo a good representation of the game itself or am I writing it off too quickly?

You have no time for RPGs, I'll give you my copy

I'm praying for Guitar Hero World Tour, Need For Speed Undercover and Call of Duty: World at War to bomb and bomb hard so that the annualization trend will end.

too bad for you: GHWT and CoD (and maybe NFS, fuck if I know) are already doing well

the trend will never stop as long as there are companies that like making money

Wait, really? Didn't GHWT perform pretty poorly in the last NPD?

No.  Was the #2 game if you combined all versions.

I got back home at 1:30 am and I saw that I had missed this and Soul Calibur 4. All they had left was some High School Musical game.  :'(

having played through the first disc of LO and the demo of Vesperia, all I can say is..wat?

The art style and VA of vesperia are like super animu concentrate.  While there are some recognizable English anime VAs in LO, it's going for a more Final Fantasy-ish angle (which is slightly anime-ish too.)  Then the battles in Vesperia have a veritable wall of sound with every character screaming special move names.

edit: whoa, Gohastings had Lost Odyssey used for $11.80!  There seem to be a lot left in stock with them.  Snagged that right away. They're trustworthy--affiliated with Hastings stores and always ship stuff mint and complete.

Yeah uh, LO is just stupid, not necessarily super-animu.  LO is more cliche jrpg with silent protagonist & shitty friends vs. distinguished mentally-challenged villain.  Vesperia is cliche anime, though to its benefit Yuri is very non-anime for most of the game.  He bucks a lot of anime trends, and Estelle even bucks some herself.

Both stories are silly and stupid, though Vesperia has a stronger start.  The gameplay in both is great.  LO is a tech mess, Vesperia is polished.  Both are long.

yeah I guess it's not animu in the traditional sense but when I say "animu" what I mean is "stupid in that special way that only Japan can be"

LO is way more eye-rolling and full of Sakaguchi mommy issues
