Watching Rome now

Extremely well made show. I really like the two soldier characters and how they always seem to be in the right place at the right time.

It's very interesting that Caeser gains most his political support to become a dictator by promising to take away land from the ruling class and give it to the proles.

One part that really struck me was when pompey was talking to his slaves about his woes and then he turns to the slave and says "How easy it is to be a slave and not have to think" as if he was talking to a dog or something.

Aslo when they are about to return home from war and one of the soldiers turns to the other and warns him that his wife might have lost weight as if it were a bad thing.

Season 1 is really good, season 2 starts to drag and is a bit crappy at times.
