I was listening to some podcast where the guy was complaining that Bethesda underutilizes their big name voice cast in games, and i was like "Did you even fucking play fallout 3? McDowell has like two hour's worth of dialogue between the radio and quest bits."

final time = 97 hours

think i'll wait until the pc version drops a bit in price before i grab it and start my villainess run-through

looking forward to the dlc

i give this game 96.53% on a scale of random numbers that just popped into my head

You can finish the main quest by rushing in like 10 or so, I finished in 50+ and did almost everything, but I was pretty beefy.

i wandered around a lot looking for random encounters

according to the strategy guide, there are still a few places i never ran across

there's more ammo scattered around the wasteland, but you have to dig for it, and i was already so powerful when i found it i didn't bother

also, it degrades really quickly

i just used it to one-shot a bunch of super mutants

pro tip:

if you decide to play nice and save/live in megaton, always walk through the main gates before you quick travel anywhere, instead of quick-travelling inside the town

there will be these random attacks by yao gui bears, radscorpions, robots, etc

and a lot of the time they will be attacking those travelling caravans who happen to be standing outside the main gate

if you stand and watch, you can pick the bodies clean for lots of caps and loot with no (or very little) karma loss - also, on their bodies will be keys to their storage in another town, where you'll find even MORE caps and loots in their footlockers

deputy weld must have been rebuilt a dozen times during my time playing

Yeah the doctor guy got killed by super mutants on his route during my game. All the way over near Jefferson Monument lol

speaking of random encounters, this was by far the most hilarious one i ran across:

I was walking underneath some highway overpass remnants, and this wastelander comes running out of nowhere past me screaming "Help me! Help me! They strapped a bomb on me!" Before I can answer he blows up into a million pieces. When I walked around the corner there were a group of raiders laughing about it.

I had to pause the game.

I told all the prisoners to run for it... while the guards were all still alive. Then I dragged their corpses back to the cage.

Ha ha, I found some slaves with bombs for neck straps. I tried to disarm one but failed. It went "beep, beep" I started backing up... then boom! Of with his head!

If you do that right away you won't get the achievement. I found out the hard way.

Ahhh OK, I was waiting for a quest to trigger, like "KILL EVERYONE IN PARADISE FALLS" or something. Didn't know you had to take the initiative yourself and just wipe out all the slavers

do you really need a quest to tell you to murder the bad men? I talked to the guy and he was like "I will not be intimidated" and I shot him in the face, then stripped him, then shot his hookers, then stripped them.
